Pass emissions without cat?
Has anyone emissions tested their Civic (B16A2) engine without using a cat?
I'm looking for the results:
PPM
CO
LAMBDA
ETC
ETC
ETC
In the UK, if the engine codes don't match the chassis(pre 1995 cars), then the car is tested using default readings of <1200ppm and <3.5% CO
Do you think i could pass these limits without a cat?
Thanks

99% sure you wouldn't be able to pass. I'd suggest you either:
-Reinstall the cat to pass, then put the test pipe or whatever you have afterwards
-Find somebody who's willing to pass you for some extra money
-Re register your car in a different town that doesn't require emmisions, to completely avoid it

i'm not sure what the differences are as far as how strict your emissions criteria are, but i've never had any issues passing with a hi-flow cat for my f22b2 accord, so that's an option you might consider if you don't want to swap in parts every time you need to do an inspection.
also, unless you've done a really strange engine swap, i think you're in the wrong forum and might have better luck finding emissions numbers for a b16a2 in the 5th gen forum

Forum = Honda Civic (2006-current)......mentions b16a2 engine
Few years ago I purchased a 97 civic with a jdm b16a, failed to notice it had no cat. Took it to emisions and failed double on hydro carbons...no way in hell you'll pass

First you miss thread, second you try to pass Euro 2 exhaust test with out cat , no way, maybe only Euro 1 but visual inspection will proof that your car have malfunction.
