96 Accord lx H22a swap
Hi guys im new here i got my accord in august and have been thinking about doing a h22 swap. I have been thinking about it how can you swap the ecu into a different car if it has the vin of the old car. i have tryed looking around but i havent really dug. Any help would benefit me. Thanks
well im in the middle of this swap, I have an obd1 h22a, with a P13 Ecu, I buy a jumper harness to connect my new p13 ecu to my 97accord I only have to wire th Vtec pressure switch, one to groun, and the othe to the ecu, Pin D6
If you stay obd2 you will need to take the key for your old car and the obd2 p13 ecu down to the dealer and have it reflashed to get the immobilizer to work. You will also need to wire around the resistor box.
I was under the impression that the reason people opted for he OBDII P13 was that it didn't have an immobilizer.
Bingo
That's why I thought you were recommending it. You can also remove the immobilizer from the ECU, but if the OP is asking this question then he's probably not qualified or comfortable to do it himself.
