Need help with CEL troubleshoot CODES 43/45
hi every one thanx for ur time i am having problems trying to fix the CELs my car is throwing i have a 00 em1 with a stock b16 i do want to mention that i have a kill switch and i deleted the cruise control system...... at first the CEL would turn on and of at random times so i replaced my MAP sensor and it kinda worked for a while but now its solid and won't turn off i changed fuel filter and treated my fuel with injector cleaners to see if it would do but it didn't it was running good but my gas milage dropped and also a little performance dropped but now my car jerks wen I'm about to take off or wen I'm in low rpms I've read on these code and found out that it can be a vacuum leak, exhaust leak, or bad fuel pump haven't really checked the fuel pressure yet but i was looking for some feed back from you guys see if u can guide me a little to solve this issue thanks again!!.
First thing you want to do is find out what the codes are then you can go from there. No one will help you if you're not giving importat details like obd1 or 2. Find out those codes and go from there, I'm new to the imports but its super fun learning new things.
For moejoepotatoe and jayrdee my car is a 2000 em1(civic si) any car from 1996 and up in the U.S is going to be OBD2 (unless swapped) and either way all the codes are the same for OBD1 and OBD2 i thought most people here would know by know what those codes are #43 fuel system, #45 fuel system rich or lean. which are very broad problems many things can be causing these codes to turn on CEL. and for First.EG im also pretty sure that if it was the O2 sensor i would get code #2 wouldn't I ?. i did more research and found a thread that it can possibly be valve adjusting.... dose any one have more input on this ???

You wouldn't get code 2 necessarily as the o2 is part of the fuel system.
Remember that the o2 controls the fuel mixture which can cause rich and lean
Conditions. See if a friend is willing to let you borrow his o2 sensors.

I would just change both. Them me know how it goes.
hey wats up every one sorry for taking long to reply...well this weekend i was planning to replace the o2 sensor and wen i opened my hook this is wat i saw...... oil leaking between block and head only on the exhaust side of the motor also my coolant was low and i had oil in the spark plugs of cylinder 1 and 2 (more on 1 though) i did want to mention that the last time i changed my spark plugs the one broke off (on cylinder 1) and i used a bit to extract the part that got stuck in one occasion i also saw that there was fluids coming out of my exhaust and one day but though it was rain water from the night before... now im believing that i had a blown head gasket and im getting these codes because cylinder 1 is misfiring due to all the oil in the spark plug what do you guys think ???? I can't tell on that last pic but if there's oil in the radiator you got bigger problems then your o2 sensors. And oil on your plugs isnt helping it change those o rings on the valve cover.
no there was no oil in the radiator i was just showing how much coolant i have lost was i was more concerned of is the head gasket being blown and the head cracked by the spark plug thread in cylinder one
i know this post is probably dead already but for any one that might use this information here it is...... it wans't my head gasket that was blown or the 02 censors that were giving me problems it ended up being a bad distributor coil one spark plug wire and the leak in the pictures was from the cam seal and vtec solenoid.... i first found out of the spark plug wire by removing it wen car was running it turned out that sparks were weak and they werent reaching the spark plug... so i got the wires all of them new but the spark was weak so i took the coil of and took it to get tested and yup it was bad so i got a new one then i just gave my car a good ignition timing to make sure it was good and that did the trick... as for the leaks i got a new valve cover gasket kit, cam seal, and vtec solenoid seal... and it stopped leaking
