Icon6 Honda Civic 01, Cannot Full Rev Loss of Power

Hi All,

I have 01 Civic with 105,000 kms on it, was driving on the Highway and did a WOT then slowed down back to 60 km/h, felt the car make a sputter. Afterwards when I go on the throttle I cannot get power, its like the car struggles to rev, and when I WOT it bogs down. There are no CEL lights, never the less I tried connecting a OBDii scanner and didnt pick up any codes.

I have changed the Fuel pump, Injectors and the Rail and same problem, I have searched the forum but cant get any leads where to go. Below is a video of how it revs. Please Help

In the video your EPS(electronic power steering ) light is on. Do you lose power steering? You should have this checked, right. Does your speedometer work? I would take the car too the dealer, they can communicate with the different control units, and retrieve any freeze frame data that may be stored.

I found when the car is still, and I rev it like that the EPS light comes on, but when the car starts to move it goes off, Im a bit hesitant to take it to a specialized Honda dealer because of the cost, eventually if i do not get it sorted out I will have to do that. I have a few questions.

Could it be that my ECU is damaged ?

Does this car have the variable intake?

many thanks

If its a manual the clutch could be slipping bother than that'll I think its a clogged . Not sure if you have a Maf but if u do that also would cause a car to run like that.

Ok well got some progress, we did a diagnostics on the car and found two issues.

1. The car did not pass the VTEC Test, it says possible causes is open VTEC switch, malfunctioning VTEC Switch.

2. Ignition timing is fluctuating from -1 to 12, which would explain the up and down rev in the video.

A while back I changed my oil to 10-50 and my mechanic suggested it could be too heavy and may clog the VTEC. Dont know if this would cause the ignition timing to fluctuate like that. Does anyone have any clue why the timing would fluctuate like that. I have already changed my cam shaft sensor.

Thanks
