Need 2000 Accord Guru Help!
Hello everyone,
I love this website because you all are so great in helping me with my wifes 2000 accord v6. Last month we had the main fuel pump relay replaced on it because it would start up and then shut right off. it has been running just perfectly up until last night. We went into wal mart got some groceries and came back out within id say maybe 45 mins. When i got in and started it up it started and then cut off again. when i started it back up and second time it stayed on. but this time when i reved it up it was almost as if to say had somehting clogged in its throat. it would rev up but have almost like a shutter to it while reving. and when i let off it just would cut out. could this be the relay going bad again? or maybe something different? the car is a 2000 v6 with about 135k on it. once again i live it to you experts. thanks for any help you can provide me once again.
p.s. the shop i took it to says there is nothing wrong. go figure.

It's not the fuel relay -- it's a common problem on 2000 Accord V6s caused by fuel vaporizing in the fuel lines, which occurs under certain conditions:
1. The car has warmed up to its normal operating temperature
2. The car is turned off and sits for between 15 and 45 minutes.
3. Winter blend fuel is used in the car (causes the issue more often, but not necessarily required)
You can prevent it by avoiding the 15 to 45 minute window mentioned above. Otherwise, you can either wait it out or keep the revs high and non-vaporized fuel will eventually get to the engine. The permanent fix is a modified fuel pressure regulator and a new ECM, which costs ~$800 and generally isn't worth it.
