not sure about 2000 bucks try and talk em down to like 1700. But if you like it and its what youve been looking for then you know what..... who cares how much you paid for it as long as YOU are happy with it

 

isnt $1700 high for the year/model of the car?
what are the mechanical problems i might encounter in this year/model?
also he said he change the GAS TANK, will it be a big concern?

For a clean ED Hatch no that's a fair starting price. If it checks out then I'd go for it. Guy doesn't sound like a tard in his post so that's another plus.
Around 1600-1700 and you did well. Hear it start cold. Check for weird smells, messed up wiring, leaks and suspension noises.

Why would the gas tank be a concern?

You should be grateful it's all new considering it sat for 9 years. Gas turns into a tough brown muck when it's been sitting and the gas tank and fuel pump were likely toast, so it's no wonder they were replaced. I bought a Maxima project a few years back that had been sitting and I had to replace the tank and fuel pump for the same reason.

That car looks to be in great shape. Slap some trim paint on the bumpers and you've got a great looking car. My only concern would be no A/C. IMO that price is a bit high even considering its condition because of the complete lack of A/C. But it's not a ripoff by any means.
