Default a few pre-swap questions

i just got a 97' jdm b18c-r w/ a 00' ctr tranny for my 96' ek 2dr; what parts should i change, inspect, or add before i do the swap? so far all i have planned is to replace the timing belt with a Power, new water pump, possibly cam gears. i'm considering having the tranny torn down and inspected if i do that should i spend the extra cash and have a new lsd and/or final drive installed while it's apart? I've been focusing on my suspension until now so i'm pretty ignorant when it comes to motors. thanks in advance guys.

-Sean

id check all the seals and put in a new thermostate they always seem to go bad in the shipping process from japan. also think about getting a newer clutch (6-puck is my favorite), throw bearing, pressure plate since the tranny is off.

good luck

if that CTR tranny has not been brutaly beeten you should have no problems nor should you have to tear it down. 2000 is pretty new. As for the engine, timing belt, water pump, any hoses that look shady, possibly valve cover gasket, distributer cap, rotor, and most likely have to replace the TPS. Good luck!!

i plan on doing the water pump, and a stronger timing belt like a power or a toda, spoon or samco radiator hoses and possibly a toda clutch and flywheel. the tps is actually intact on the motor, thanks for the info on the cap and rotor...they look brand new as do the wires look, think i should do them anyway?
