1990 Accord Not passing Emissions in California
Good morning!
New to the forum so we hope you can help us out. My daughter bought a 1990 Honda Accord off of Craigslist. I was with her at the time, did a visual, took it for a drive and everything seemed fine. She took it down to be Smogged and it didn't pass. On the Report it failed in the following:
Test: 15 mph
RPM: 1802
CO2: 14.40
O2: 0.18
HC (PPM)
MAX: 83
AVE: 29
MEAS: 98
CO
MAX: 0.75
AVE: 0.18
MEAS: 0.36
NO (PPM)
MAX: 559
AVE: 298
MEAS: 607
Results: FAIL
For 25 mph it passed. How can we get my daughter's first car to pass. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance - Thandaman22

Did the tech give you any fail codes? or any ideas of what it could be?.... its a list of things that will make it not pass smog, Ex. EGR valve, carbon build-up on the passages that the egr valve controls, to name a few...I'm pretty sure theirs a few people here that can chime in and give their .02
GL
GL
its running rich and either has advanced timing or a clogged egr system.
i would probably clean egr ports, replace plugs and o2 sensor and go from there.
