Double Clutching and Snycromesh
So I learned to drive years ago on an old battle tank of a vehicle that didn't have much of a gear box let alone Synchro (crash gearbox anyone?) but recently I was told by a mechanic that double clutching might damage my snychro? This was news to me and I double clutch without thinking .. am I really damaging my gearbox? Or is this guy as full of himself as I suspect.

What kind of car? Since your on Honda-Tech I am going to assume a Honda...you double clutch around corners? or do you match rev on your downshift around a corner?
98' Torneo. Match rev. I should have clarified. I (like most normal people I'd hope) slow down before a corner and accelerate out of it. Edited to the corner comment out of the first post it's not really relevant.
Haha, just making sure. Well to answer your original question than...your mechanic that told you that match revving could damage your synchro is wrong. If anything you are saving them by match revving.
OP, are you actually double clutching, or just rev matching?

A double clutch includes rev matching, you just do it in neutral with the clutch pedal released instead of during the gear transition.
Properly done, either technique should help reduce synchro wear.

I thought it was strange; the guy seemed a little off kilter but I thought I'd ask just in case someone knew something I don't. I also rev match occasionally (after reading what it was correctly )
