Has anyone installed the rear seats that come with headrests into their USDM Hatches? Some hatches in Europe come with headrest on the rear seats. I have the opportunity of buying a set for my US car. Will they bolt on correctly? I searched and only found that the EK4 seats won't fit the US cars because the way they are bolted. But I believe the ones I am buying are from EK3 and they are European, so I am not sure if the bolt pattern is the same. Anyone has any info on this? Thanks in advance.

But ... my suspicion has always been that all EDM rear seats would swap to USDM, but I have never researched it. I'll have a look at the parts diagrams in the next day or two to see if they offer a clue.

I was in Heidelberg for a year and recently moved here to Wiesbaden. I did some search on google and found a couple of threads stating that the EK4 wouldn't be a direct swap.

 

I picked up the seats, seems like the bottom bench won't fit, don't know about the back section. I will test fit them once I have time and it's not too cold outside.

 

Maybe this can apply to the hatch seats as well?

Thanks for the link, I had already read that info, but wanted to know about the EDM rear seats, I wasn't sure if they were the same or not. However, looking at the pics on that link, it looks like the backs of the EDM seats are the same as the USDM ones pictured there. I will find out for sure and post it here.

 

I was able to install the section with the head rests but the bench (bottom part) did not fit. So now I got a rear seat with two different patterns.

 

Take the fabric off one and put it on the other? And, what made the bottom section not fit properly?

 

It's ok, I plan on re-upholstering them to match my ITR front seats. The bottom bench did not fit because the "hooks" that connect to the body of the cars don't align properly, they are the same pattern as the EK9 seats.
