Need help rebuilding gsr transmission
Hey guys, I'm looking for someone to help me out with this tranny. I've already taken the casing apart, it's just I don't trust myself doing tranny work. I'm looking to replace the axle seals and some bearings. I'm located in Ontario ca(inland and empire area) I'm willing to pay you for your time. Thank you !

Sorry to say, but it looks like you haven't been taking care of it. Lol. Looks really dirty. Has it been grinding? I didn't trust myself when i rebuilt my trans but it wasn't as hard as i thought it was. Here are some sites you can use to help guide you. Do your research and studying first before going in. Autozone and other auto stores can lend you tools for free.
This one kinda shows how to disassemble everything

This one has helped me the most. Shows step by step how to do pretty much everything.
bearing removal slide hammer (available for rent at most auto parts stores)
and a seal pick.
(shown in number pics 11 and 12)
Just take your time with it. You can do it

Oh no I'm not offended, I bought this 95' gsr for 1500 and the reason why its so cheap is because this and his neighbor backed into him... Bought it off an old man, I'm the 2nd owner and this car has been really taken care of. Minus the rear end, but previous owner said that it started making this noise from the tranny (I thought it would have been the input shaft bearing) but I talked him down and brought it home. Now it's all taken apart and the reason why it looks like that is not only the bearing, his axle seals went bad and he lost quite a bit of oil so it ran hot for a while until the bearing finally gave out. But thanks for the help,

If you're somewhat mechanically inclined, have the right tools and you have an exploded view of all the pieces of the 2 shafts, you should be able to get everything together ok.
If not I know a guy that goes to the IE every other week and is a tranny guru. He may be interested in stopping by and helping you for a fee. LMK.

Well I got it, all I needed to buy was a bearing puller. I took pictures all the way around and took off piece by piece and set them in order. Then cleaned off everything with chemical degreaser. Next time I'd rather have someone do it for me for the extra money... It was such a hassle
Now I'm in for a bunch of body work, debating between jfront and 98-01 spec, then primer/paint
