1. went to NTB today to get my tires balanced because i was getting wobbling in my steering at high speeds. i come back in an hour and they tell me that one of the front wheels was perfect, and the other one is really bent on the inside of the rim...which was causing the wobble feel, so they moved it to the rear. i only started to notice this wobble due to the fact that i recently rotated my tires and the shitty rim was then infront. (maybe an excuse to buy new rims....?)

2. the guy that owned my car before me had DC header and Greddy EVO installed...but the shop that did it just used regular bolts to connect the cat to the header...which i thought caused the vibration i am hearing from the exhaust when i rev and then let off (right near the area where it's about done reving down (1500 or so..)). so i installed the new bolts with the springs on them today and thought the noise would go away and low and behold...i discover that the noise is apparently coming from INSIDE my cat....i think. i don't see anything vibrating at all, but i can hear this kind of metalic rattling/flapping noise coming from the cat area of the exhaust when the engine is revving down at about 1500 RPM or so. anyone know what is causing this noise? do i have a **** cat or what?

 

that happened when i hollowed out my cat. there was a piece of metal mesh on the inside of the cat that needed to come out. it sounded like shitt and only got worse.

 

is the heat shield for the cat still there? if so it could be that...mine rattles/makes a noise at low rpm

 

no heat shield, i ripped it off a long time ago because it was rattling too. and to the best of my knowledge the cat has not been hollowed out. you think i should try to take the cat off and see what it looks like inside? couldn't really hurt anything right?
any other ideas on whath could be making this noise?

 

if you still have the stock exhaust manifold it could be that (ive herd it starts to deterierate (sp?) and rattles or it could be one of the two heat shields on the manifold. goodluck finding it

 

no heat shields there...it's something inside the cat.
has anyone taken off their cat to clean it or anything? or if you've bought a new cat...where did you get it?

 

well hell. i climbed under the car again and figured it out. the rear end of the cat pipe doesn't fit tight with the connected piping. so at certain RPM levels it rattles inside the fitting. crap.
