Default Knocking Noise Front Right Side, when driving on bumpy roads

Hi Everyone,

I have this knocking sound coming from the front right side when driving at slow speed on bumpy roads, I just had new OEM Struts installed, and I'm still hearing the noise. While driving on good roads and at higher speeds there's no problem.

Could it be mounts gone bad or tie rod ends?

Anyone else experience this problem?

Could be your cv axle popping.

Are the top hats new as well? Make sure everything is tight. Check your Tie rod(edit: sway bar) end links, if they are bad, they can make noise on bumps.

start with the easiest thing. ball joints. take wheel off, try to pull brake rotor towards you and away from you. if its solid, rule out ball joints for now. check for any loose links/nuts. check your tie rods. take it on a road test etc etc see if it clicks when you turn a certain way or not.

Check your sway bar endlinks. I have had a few with the symptoms youve described. They ussualy end up hitting the subframe causing this noise over bumps, ect.

I'm thinkin cv axle on this one but try moving your wheel side to side then up and down. If the wheel moves side to side then you have a tie rod problem. If the wheel moves up and down then you have a ball joint problem. Btw, how lowered are you?

Thanks Kingteg,

I'll ask my mechanic to check those links out.

Hi Lambo123,

I was lowered with Tokico blue struts and Ebach Pro Spring kit about an inch, but when those struts went bad a couple months ago I could not get anymore Tokico Struts for DC5 they have stopped making them so I'm back to OEM struts and springs again Lol

CV axles aren't typically going to pop going over bumps. ball joints, and end links are most common

Compliance bushings are the most common fault. Far more so than balljoints on this vehicle.

The bolts that hold your motor to your car I had the same problem now I don't know what it's called but you should look right under where your headers are mine was missing one nd the other was loose that really made a horrible noise almost like a C.V. axle popping only in the bumps it would do that took me a while to figure out bought axles nd new struts springs everything man turned out to be those bolts so just look maybe that's it hope it helps man.
