Default B16a2 loss of power

Alright guys I've been lurking around for awhile I've owned a bunch of Hondas and this is my third del sol that I own. Recently as of yesterday my engine started to Lack a lot of power. In the beginning at some points it stuttered around the 3000rpm range, but yesterday it lost almost all power and ran like crud. When it started I heard a loud Whinney noise coming from around the intake, then this morning it was gone. Last night I replaced the spark plugs and it didn't stutter nearly as much but still doesn't have power. Mind you it has no thermostat at the moment. I check the oil and it looks fine it had a little bit of black crud on it at one point but never had it again. The car also has a hole in the pipe for the muffler. I have a thermostat, wires, cap and I'm planning on doing a oil change all on order being shipper right now. Also took the air filter out of the intake box and it ran a little better but still not great. I've looked at most forms and signs point to the distributor itself but I figured I'd ask before I start wasting more money that I don't have.

...and 02 sensor!

Its commonly overlooked, but can cause bad gas mileage and over time can cause excess carbon to build in your catalytic converter and plug it up...this causes more noise to come from the intake (especially when you remove the stock baffling and run an aftermarket intake) as backpressure builds in the exhaust and reverts
