tien ?
i had some old tien full race coilovers, and i sold them when i was selling the car. but now i kept it, and i am saving for new coilovers. my question is why they dont offer the electronic damper force controller for our car. i called tien and he said the motor didnt clear the hood...but that doesnt make any sense? any ideas?
The little electric motor that turns the shock adjustment when you make a change using the controller inside the car sits on the top of the shock in the engine compartment and wouls be too high to clear the hood when you try and close it.

the EDFC is a universal kit that works on all tein adjustable shocks. When they say it won't work they mean that there is not enough room to mount the motor on top of the shock without the hood smashing the **** out of it.
I would get it and then put spacers under the hood hinges to jack up the back of the hood, thus making more room for the motors.

it is a pretty cool idea, i think. saves me from getting dirty. its easy, but asides from that, nobody around has it, and i think the idea is awesome for under 400 dollars. in terms of no hood, i love the look, but i got pulled over. i have a fiberglass hood so, shimming it too much would create a nasty gap. anyways I think i might go for it...cool to see if it will work.
to tell yuo the truth i think it would work without shimming the hood up... i personally think tien doesn't care much about the ef chassis like most other companies... just buy it for the integra or civic and change your front forks and rear LCA to 88 crx\type r and you'll be set...... but i think paying 380 isn't worth it....
edit: i was saving up for tiens, but now i'm thinking of zeal or jic...

why do you want it anyways??? you can just go outside and adjust it manually....
It even has 3-4 presets, so you can talor each preset to a certain portion of a track, or even a certain road condition. If you are on the street, you could have a preset for freeway, city, construction site, rally.........you name it!

Have you ever noticed the large bumps on a Dodge Stealths Hood on the sides? If I were you I would cut holes in my hood and just put some kind of bumps like that over to make a space for the motor to fit. It might also look cool to.
