P1298 Honda civic 2002
I have a Honda Civic Ex 2002 and my check engine light has been on so I had someone with a code reader scan it and "P1298 Mfr ctrlled fuel and air metering" appears. I looked up the code p1298 and it shows me that this is the ELD, my question is does this mean the same thing? Sorry I dont know very much about this so Im doing my best to research the problem
Yes, it's the ELD. Part # 38255-S5A-003. Ask for that part # specifically or they'll try to sell you the whole fusebox at $250.
It's also very easy to switch out and takes about 60 seconds. If you open the under-hood fusebox you'll see the ELD in the front driver's side of the fusebox.
When you're done, clear the codes with the code reader or pull the ECM/PCM fuse (#6) in the under-hood fusebox for at least 10 seconds while the vehicle is off.
