My 1st Build
Hey HT!
Been in and out of the forums for a couple of years now, long time spectator first time builder.
Purchased a trashed 2000 GSR shell with some goodies. I spent about 3 weeks piecing together a EXTREMELY low budget build with a B18C1 and a GSR trans. By low budget I mean LOW BUDGET.
To be completely honest I had absolutely no clue what the hell I was doing (and probably still don't) but I was determined to give this a try. I am an IT Technician and spend a lot of time with computers and networks, but engines always fascinated me. I mean I've done simple stuff. Oil, Tune-ups, basic suspension work and always had a pretty good idea what was going on under the hood. Feeling confident with HT and many other great bits of information out there I went ahead and gave this a try.
If there is anyone out there on the fence wondering if this is worth it, or worried if they have the know-how - DO IT! I cannot believe how much I have learned. Inside and out piecing everything together the best my feeble mind could. With the FAQ and all of the ridiculously useful information at our fingertips I honestly don't know why I waited this long to try this. Never had so much fun, torquing to spec and getting filthy.
Again I must be honest with myself. The only reason I did this was to prove to myself I could pull it off, and be aware that it could only result in a lesson-learned situation.
Well I have found my new hobby. Had a stupid fun time doing it and really want to boost peoples confidence, letting them know if I can do it...anybody can.
Can't wait to learn more and once again cannot stress how thankful I am to this community for making my first build (fairly) headache free
