Default LS Intake Porting. Any point?

I have on order a B20 with p8r head and a report 9.2cr. I thought I might port on intake a little bit to clean up and smooth up the inside of it if it would help increase power and/or torque any.

Is this pointless or is it worth it at all?

if your going for MPGs just use a thermal gasket and make sure you trim it to gasket match the intake ports.

Thanks for the info I wasn't aware of thermal gaskets. Is this anything like an intake spacer? I had one for a ported stock intake for my 87 Mustang 5.0 but I never used it. The space disipated head and increased runner length a little bit.

I bought a bare ls intake and I was considering getting my dremel out and smoothing out the inside so I don't really mean a port as much as I do a polish.
