Hi guys.
I bought a 93 Accord 9 months ago and have been having what seem to be "random" intermittent problems.

#1 All dash lights went out suddenly. Soon following my brake lights went out and my right turn signal light stayed on even when I did not have my key in ignition or switch on, and required me to pull a fuse so it wouldn't drain my battery.

#2 My heat went out, but I think its the blower motor or switch.

#3 More recently (within 2 months) all four (4) door locks lock and unlock by themselves really quick when Im driving. Even when I don't have keys in the ignition. I had to disconnect the battery (even after I took the fuse out for power locks) so that it wouldn't drain my battery.

The electrical issues I seem to be having share something in common, and that's the fact that I have to disconnect battery whenever Im not driving.
Ive looked around to see If I could find any similar issues for this year vehicle
and just haven't had any luck finding any info that helps.
I have my dash torn apart atm to see if I can find a short anywhere. So far no luck.

I really would be relieved if someone could at least point me in the right direction. Thanks so much for your time in advance.

 

Trace wires its about all that can be said. You have a twenty year old cart with unknown history....Might want to start at the ignition switch and fuse box

The only thing about it is that the brake lights are unswitched so I don't know how that could be related to anything in your steering column, even so I would replace the ignition switch first, myself, just to get that out of the way.

I have seen many times the wiring from the drivers door have faults from flexing in the door hinge area. This can cause all kinds of problems.

 

So I had called a family mechanic and he told me that the
1 brake lights do not work because the Brake Light Switch is bad
and the brake light switch is what is causing the door locks to trip out by themselves.
I am ordering the parts right now. After installed I will let you guys know.

 

The brake light switch has absolutely nothing to do with the door locks.

The brake light switch is a common problem. Just order a new one from the dealership to knock that out.

The door locks are another common problem - I'd suggest if it's all of them to look at the main switch on the driver's door. If you have a friend or junkyard with the same type of Accord try swapping the switches on the door.

Dash lights are probably the dimmer switch - on 94-97 Accords it can also kill some other lights too.


I'd start with the dimmer switch and brake light switch - neither is too expensive. See which problems are resolved from those. The turn signal could be the relay (probably is) or faulty plug/wiring at the light itself.
