Icon2 2000 Honda Civic SIR doors onto a 98 Civic DX

Hey guys,

I have searched and didn't come up with the exact answers I was looking for or if what I am looking to do has been done before. I have found both front doors off a 2000 Honda Civic SIR (Canadian) with power windows and I was curious how much of a hassle it would be to install them to be operational on my 1998 Honda Civic DX coupe? Will they be plug and play? Or is there wiring involved? Thanks in advance for any input regarding my question.

Regards,

Jim

search...... but you would be better off finding 96-98 doors. they are different from the 99-00 and unless you swap the floor harness it's not plug and play.

What he said ^^. And go to Kenny's for cheap cheap parts; plenty of 6th Gens when I was there in October. Functionally there is no difference between the SiR doors and an Si/EJ8 coupe power-features door.

the only 99-00 SIR i've ever come across had the door wiring set up like a 96-98, with the lock module in the drivers door, not the kick panel like a usdm 99-00 is supposed to have.

^^ User has a point ... lock module in door vs. in floor might be a CAN vs. USA difference. Check those SiR doors first (and the 6th gen Service Manual - Google this). You'll still need the floor wiring.

What is your reason for wanting the SiR doors? Are they just in better shape or you want them because they are power windows/locks and your DX is manual? If you are just wanting them for the metal then it might be easier to just swap your door pads and 'guts' into the SiR shells.

As deschlong stated.....I am looking to convert to power windows as mine are manual at the moment.
