Went to adjust my timing today and realized that my upper distributors bolt is stripped out, but cant seem to find that part name that i need to replace? Bolt # 17 is what holds it in place in the diagram that i attached, does the hole cam cap have to be replaced?

 

You do not want to replace the cam cap, you cant just grab one from another head either. They are line bored on that head. You should be fine running just the other 2 distributor bolts, or Heli coil it.

Thats a very easy fix, retap the thread with a bigger bore and put a hela coil or bore it wider and use a biger bolt and nut. But it should hold fine with the 2 side bolts.

 

mine has stripped out a few times. both the helicoil and redrill/tap one size up are good moves. worst case you line it up and tighten it down with the other two bolts then just get a longer bolt for the top one and put a nut on it where it sticks out of the back of the cam cap
