i have a d16zc vtec in my car and my alt is over charging. my car is run on obd1. im just curious as to if the alternator its self is obd sensitive or if it just the plug. like would i be able to use the alt from my 91 civic sedan if i changed the plug on it? if so does anyone have the wiring pin out for this thanks in advance.
OBD2 is the weird one.
OBD0 and OBD1 are interchangeable.
I don't even think you need to switch out plugs.
In the off chance that you do need to switch plugs, the colors should be the same making it an easy swap.

ok i got into looking today and the plug on the obd0 alt looks to be 4 wire. and the obd1 looks like its 3 wire. any thoughts on this? could one of the wires on my obd1 alt came off and thats why it is over charging my battery?
Ah... you got a 3 wire =/
Most have a 4, but you can use the 3 anyway.
S- sense I - Ignition and L for light
some have B - battery, but you can leave that disconnected
