Default Clicking sound when turning with new axle

I just replaced my axle and whenever I turn I still hear a clicking sound but its not as bad as it used to be. When I replaced the axle and when I was looking around for any other possible culprits I noticed that the tie rod end (or atleast thats what I think it is) has a torn boot. Its a piece thats connected to the tie rod which has a ball and then looks like its connected to the steering rack? I'll take a picture of it if needed but can that piece there still cause a clicking sound when turning?

also might want to add if the car has been lowered and if it's passenger or drivers side.

It's a 96 integra LS automatic. Car is bone stock. I only replaced the drivers side axle. During an inspection of that area I found the boot on part #1 was torn.

Part #1 is the "Rack End Set", there is no "boot", or are you talking about #14, "Tie Rod End Boot"? 94

That boot covers the tie rod end where it connects to the steering rack. It covers the ball joint in that #1 assembly. Could that exposed joint make a knocking sound as well?

its not your tie-rod, its the axle. oem replacement axles suck horribly, your best bet is to get oem axles and rebuild them

I'm inclined to agree. It is not uncommon to have a newly "remanned" axle click on turns. I personally have sworn off remanned axles and always replace the boots before the outer joint goes. If it's past that point, I recommend to replace just the joint with an OEM one. It's a hard sell though, since an OEM joint is about $250 and a remanned axle is $100.

Are you talking about #10, Tie Rod Dust Seal, if so I have to agree with the others, it is most likely the CV joint in the "new" axle, I know of nothing in the dust shield that would click, although still possible, it's more likely to be the axle for reasons stated.

A very good "aftermarket" axle is... http://www.raxles.com/ much better then OEM at half the price. 94

The axle u had got could be bad or could be a bad wheel bearing in some cases i would check to make sure everything is in right and tight first
