Trying to help my friend with his Ef. We just did mpfi convertion on it, it turns on an all but now when I hit the gas it bogs and stalls sometimes shuts off sometimes it doesnt sometimes it will shut off a couple of seconds after. If I try to drive it ,it tries to shut off so I let go of the gas so it idles when its cold it works normally but then when it gets warm goes back to the problem.

It has a check engine light
6=colant temp sensor is broken
14=Electronic air control

Has new fuel filter
New ngk spark plugs
New cap and rotor
obd1 injectors

Any ideas? thanks in advanced the car is driving me nuts.

 

The iac wouldnt cause it to bog like that would it?
The car was sitting for a while before we started it I dont know if that changes anything.
Also forgot to mention sometimes I have to crank it 2 or 3 times for it to start up.

 

Did you switch the two outside wires on the throttle position sensor? Also did u by chance switch this plug with the map sensor plug?

 

No I didnt switch the wires the tutorial I followed didnt say that or maybe I missed it...
The tps and the map sensor have their correct plug I checked a couple of days ago at first I was getting a code for the map sensor but it was because none of the vacuum lines where connected I connected them till the motor felt normal but didnt use a diagram ill make sure I check that out tomorrow thanks.

 

Switch the two wires on the tps. The dpfi works backwards to the mpfi tps.

 

Fix the CEL codes.

 

Fixed the cels and It still is bogging I noticed that if I try and rev it, it will back fire I dont know if a bad tps will cause that?

It kinda idles perfect but like I said if I accelerate it, it will bog and misfire
