DIY 92-93 accord cb front lip on 96 civic ej
So you want a thin lip and don't have the money for an sir or want to screw in a replica sir to your bumper? Wait no longer. go to the junkyard and find yourself a 92-93 accord and hope the lip is still intact. I paid just under $10 for the lip WITH all the hardware. (clips and bolts) this is very easy to do.
After you've found a lip;
- Remove your bumper
-Flip it umop ap!sdn I used a rug to protect the paint.
-Insert the clips into your bumper.

-Attach the lip to the bumper with the center bolt.

-Stretch the lip around to the end of the bumper keeping the plastic above the clip bolt holes.
-Using a marker, mark where the holes need to be drilled.
-Drill the holes into the lip while realigning the lip to the bumper after each hole is drilled into the lip. double check.
-If you misaligned a hole, take a file and file it towards where it should be. or use a knife but be very CAREFUL.
-After you've checked and drilled all your holes install all the bolts.

-it will be sticking out about and inch or so on each side. you decide how you remove that.

By bending it back or just cutting it off. Its a little far in on the sides but other than that I'm happy

The cars are the same width. I pushed in the lip to be able to make a hole for bolt. I could have added brackets to extend it. But I didn't have any at the time or really care... Think outside the box guys.
Besides my whole point was to not drill into my bumper and use the origional hardware. NO LOSS. On a piece that is prone to breaking often..

Originality/ingenuity is becoming hard to find on Honda's now, most especially the 96-00 Civics. The most recent thing I've seen that looks killer is the Honda Fit lip on a 99-00 Civic.
I respect you, much props, for the attempt, maybe if you adjust it a bit more it'd be a nice fit, if not, keep trying, lol!
here are the best photos I could find of that Fit lip on a 6th gen.

I don't think it looks bad.
