Default New(to us) Del Sol needs quieter exhaust...

I recently purchased a '95 Del Sol for a sunday driver. It has a Tenrai Exhaust (himoto/catback??) My wife doesn't like how lound the exhaust is and I would like to replace all or part of the exhaust bring down the decible level...any suggestions? Can I replace just part of the Tenrai Exhaust or will I have to start over from scratch?

Find out what type of exhaust it is and see if you can get a silencer put on it, that'll help loads.

Make sure the cat and resonator are intact.

I'm personally a huge fan of the Thrush Turbo muffler, available at autozone/advanced/Amazon. Quiet, with a nice growl when you get down on it.

If you can fit a 2006-2010 Civic SI muffler on that, it'd be awesome. Stock mufflers aren't fart cans for sure, whatever you'd need to do after installing the muffler would be probably simply adding a resonator, right?
Am I the only one that really digs the look?

Lucky, there just so happens to do what I mentioned:

If you want it quiet and your wife thinks it too loud I'd just go back to stock. Sell the one you have on there or trade someone for their stock exhaust. Worst case the mid section and rear muffler brand new from Honda are about $150 each (hondaautomotiveparts.com). I had the 2006 Si muffler on my 96 Honda for about 2 weeks and while quieter than aftermarket still was too loud for my wife and she wouldn't drive it. Here's what it sounded like (click the picture to play the video, I wasn't finished installing it that's why the fitment looks off but it actually fits really nice):

If you want quiet, go back to stock (I have one laying around too for a del sol).

Or you can go with the previously mention thrush or dynomax super turbo.

Another one, which I would consider middle of the road as far as volume is a magnaflow oval muffler. you can fit a 4x9x14 oval muffler on the del sol. It is much quieter than most N1 can-style catback / muffler combo, does not increase exhaust restriction much at all, and it has a mellow sound.
