Girl wants to buy me something for my bike, what shoud I ask for?
My plan was the leave it stock, but my g/f wants to get me something for it for christmas. What should I ask for? I am not sure how much she wants to spend, but I am guess $300 - $400. I already have frame sliders, that is all though.

I would get some tires and oil. Some stuff I need and not want. LOL
I was also thinking slip-on. Any recommendations there?
I saw maybe a few accessories. Smoked screen or a slip on. Yoshimura, Micron, etc. One of my 1st mods is frame sliders and slip on.
Dunlop Sportmax D208 ZR. If you don't have them get them. For the insane curve carvers these tires are the best.

My tires only have 1000 miles on them, but I wouldn't mind getting some new ones for next year. Bike has BT010's (something like that) all the sportbike guys over at cycleforums recommend them. I am not sure how the g/f will feel about tires for a gift.
Whoever had the accessories idea, I think I may go that route. Smoked screen, rear cowl, any other ideas?
How about a scotts damper? Anyone have one on their F4i, I have only read about them on R1s.

JOHN, did you get your tracking number? I haven't heard back from you.
Yeah I got it Kyle..
Another great gift idea: chain and sprockets for the distant future, if you plan on keeping your bike awhile

2kteg-metzeler sportecs are your best bet for weekend ride street surface grip. As for exhaust, save up for a full system rather than a slipon on the f4i. Once you see some dyno charts you'll know why. Sorry I don't save that kind of stuff though. Go down to your neighborhood bike shop and ask them.
dont get a k&n filter. you will loose hp. A slipon would create more noise, and not much power. if you want an exhaust look into a full system. hindle seems to be a pretty good bang for the buck compared to alot of other manufacturers. But if you do that, then the bike will run a little lean and you would then need a power commander...... (You said f4i right?)
I would say invest in safety gear. Back protector, leather suit, leather gloves, solid riding boots.
Oh yeah and for tires.... michelin pilots
bt10's are a good bargain but dont grip as well as many other tires. I am not a big dunlop fan. 6 sets of d207's on the f3. Pilots on the 929.

No offense intended but being new to the sport and all I doubt you'll be able to controllably max out the dry grip on the factory tires. I personally haven't had any problems w/ the f4i oem tires. I didn't ride it all that hard but it did give decent feedback and very smooth turn in. I credit most of that to the bike though. My advice would be a decent 2 piece suit, back protector and some nice boots (sidi vert or alp smx) type stuff. Those will help your confidence and help you push the envelope and thus progress as a rider. After you put those miles you may be able to use the extra grip of more aggressive sport tires and your factory tires will be quite used as well making it a sound financial decision as well.
I am leaning away from the full exhaust. I am happy with the power this bike makes stock and I don't want to get into another money pit (like my car). Once you get the exhaust, then you need the Power Commander, then you want some new sprockets, then do some engine work...I am gonna leave this one mostly stock.
I hear you on the tires tony. If I got them they would be to use around this time next year. Another reason I don't think she would dig them as a gift. I would ask for a leather suit, but I doubt she wants to spend that much $$ on one gift. I am about to go get some boots too. Just have to find time for the 45 minute drive to go try them on and figure which I like the best.
How much do those back protectors cost? What is a good one? I think I will ask for one of those, a smoked visor for my helmet, and a smoked screen for the bike (I just think they look cool).
****, I'll probably show her this and say "these guys know what they are talking about, I want one of each
)
Thanks Guys.

Some people get the exhaust system so it is louder...that way cars can hear/notice you better. *shrug*
Can you really make an F4i loud though?
Kyle
All i can say is d&d or vance and hines supersport exhausts. They could get obnoxiously loud even on an a 250.......
You would be surprised. You could get a decent full suit agv/joe rocket for 400 or so.
Boots would be an excellent choice. I had a mishap and my boots didnt fare to well. Invest in good foot protection. Sidi Vert race for me.

Wide Open Throttle- you as a rider have to be up to the task more so than your rubber. oem rubber on f4is has good, rounded performance. Just had a chance to test out their wet grip this morning.
2k- I suggest either 1 down up front or 2 up in the rear when you get your next chain. By then you'll be able to take the extra torque on exit. The screens sound good if they float your boat. I also recommend a decent 2 piece. JR highside and the like are under 400. I have a dainese 7 plate back protector and its great. Very comfortable and secure. Haven't crashtested it yet. I wouldn't try to order one of those from a retailer as they're backordered. If you're interested I know I guy in europe that hooks up all the riders in my area on dainese stuff. Didn't you get a nice leather jacket w/ your bike? Why don't you get matching leather pants and a nice set of boots? My smxs crashed great, I ended up getting another pair. In fact, I'm selling the first pair. Red and black, size US11/euro45. $100+actual shipping if anyone's interested. new toe sliders and they're cherry. No foot funk, just polished and oiled.
