94 honda civic vx just a few mods?
i just recently traded in the old granny 97 buick park avenue(about 20 miles to the gallon blehhh)with 171k miles on it for a 94 honda civic vx with 121k miles on it all stock except for a few extra door speakers and aftermarket radio. i really love the hell outa this one for the mpgs its getting.but at the same time i really wanna enjoy driving it more. im not looking into really big performance adjustments or putting a bunch of money into car. im just curious if its possible to aftermarket the exhaust and the air intake maybe a little. does putting in a short ram intake on its intake system really affect the car a lot? honestly i just miss hearing the roar of vtec.even if its just the vtec-e. also curious about the exhaust I love driving loud 5speeds. from what iv read so far im not sure i want to lean on replacing the whole exhaust. maybe just an apexi n1 4" muffler tip. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Freebie mod for you then, just remove the muffler section altogether. If you want to spend a little, go to your local muffler shop and have them fab up a pipe to route your exhaust gases back to the bumper.
For your intake, you can use any intake intended for the 92-95 Civic engines but you'll most likely have to get creative at home depot or the likes to find an adapter to mate the intake to the tiny throttle body your car has. I've done the same with my car before. Not much difference if any in drivability.

i love hondas. i love how easy they are to work on. how reliable they are. how good of milage they get. and as for being an economy car i love the vx and its fast enough the way it is.i love it. why not have your cake and eat it too? All i seriously wanna do is enjoy the sound of vtec. give the car a little bit of sound. and still enjoy the mpg.how does that not make any sence? this is exactly what got me addicted to hondas in the first place.
hate on me all you want i just want to enjoy driving a little bit more

What is it about people liking the sound of Vtec??? I can't stand when my car hits vtec because of the sound. I am about to add another resonator just to make it less noticeable.
Your idea's of you enjoying your car are stricly opinionated.
My idea or somebody else's will vary, I personally hate a loud exhaust on a 4 cylinder. It serves no purpose other than to be loud. To each their own.

I agree with the masses on this one to be honest, the mods are nearly pointless on this engine BUT I'm not here to judge anyone on what they want to do to their car. And even though I have no first hand experience with VTEC-E I really doubt you'll hear it. It's not quite the same as say a...2007 Si. Completely different engines.
My suggestion with the exhaust section removal wouldn't be my first choice but it would seem to fit the bill for your quest for sound. And if you don't like it, you can always get an actual name brand or generic performance minded exhaust and install it to quiet it down...or just put your stock one back.
