Hey guys . So over the weekend my 97 jdm integra stalled while driving . I tired cranking it and such and still nothing . I then inspected everything and learned that I had no spark which meant to me changing my igniter. So I did that today and everything as back to normal and my car fired up and everything . However now the catalytic converter light came on and it has never before so does anything have any input? I was guess that because when the car was dead and I tried cranking it several times that is led to an excess of gas soo when I finally got it turned on it all burnt up and "tricked " the sensor to believe it was overheating ? By the way it's the stock cat and it's not te catalytic light on but the check engine . Thanks in advance

my dizzy was bad and made the car run rich (extra gas killed my oem cat)
now that your distributor is fixed your still gunna have to changed the cat have you pulled it off and looked at it ?

 

No I haven't looked at it yet. Now do I have to change just the car or do I have to change the sensor in it as well?

 

if your oxygen sensor is bad you would be receiving a specific code for p042 up or downstream.

if your cat is bad you should be receivig a code of Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold code.

hopefully its just clogged and you can pull it out and spray it out well with a can of brake cleaner but if its burnt up and the screens are destroyed that sucks.
