Default screen goo

Hi all, I'm Chris. I just found this site after doing many hours of searching. My Daughters 2002 RSX type S has a problem with the engine. I'm hoping someone can help me figure it out.
1ST, THERE ARE NO CODES. I checked.
The engine runs fine when it's idling, nice and smooth, no missing or knocking/pinging.
If you slowly, or quickly, give it gas, its starts knocking like crazy at around 2000-2500 rpm. It sounds like it's coming from the top end to me. I pulled the valve cover and checked stuff out. All looks to be ok. I verified the lash on the valves and its right on.
I pulled the VTEC solenoid assembly and there's some junk in the screen. It looks like little granules of gold in a beaker to me.
(chunks of main/rod bearing???) like i said, it idles ok.
Anyways i was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything like that in the screens on their engines?
Thanks,
Chris

get a photobucket account or other source and then use the [IMG] tags to post photos.

Also, maybe try making a video sound clip for us.

Upon further investigation, (stethoscope) i now believe the noise is coming from the bottom end. I cant find any books for this car. Like Chilton, or Haynes, which describe basic engine removal processes. I've had the engine out of my 92 ranger several times, but i know what I'm doing with that.
I would like to remove the oil pan and see what condition the rods/mains are in. It doesn't look like it will come out without jacking up the engine. I figured if i have to disconnect a bunch of stuff just to jack it up, i might as well remove it and check the whole frigging thing out.
Does anyone know where i can find semi detailed info on engine removal?
Also, I will keep trying the photo-bucket thing. I cant seem to get in to sign up right now.
Their problem or my PC??????????
Thanks,
Chris
