Default Any differences to various year L3 tranny housings?

I'm rebuilding the guts on a 91' HF transmission, but I'd like to use the housing case from an 89' DX I have because it's in slightly better shape.

I've inspected them thoroughly and can't seem to find any physical differences, yet when I look them up they have very different part numbers.

Is there a physical difference I'm missing? Or was it just a year thing? (Keep in mind this is just the solid metal case, there are NO parts on them right now.)

I'm just guessing but I bet it's the same. The only cases I'd be weary of is the RT4wd....

Just bearing size. Between Hf and DX, it should plop in. Gearing is very different tho.
