See my other posts....no instrument lights, and bouncing speedometer.. Checked dimmer switch and theres no continuity to ground with black wire as it should be...checked g401 it looked fine no broke wires etc...any help would be appreciated!

Also wondering if the dimmer ground issue will explain both the cluster lights and erratic speedo...could it be. Bad ground coming off cluster harness itself?

 

no continuity? did check the wire for opens before the ground? And if the this ground is used for the cluster than yes, it can be related

 

Not sure what you mean..if theres no continuity to ground then there's a bad ground or an open..how would I chek for open?...

 

I would try to get a new dimmer switch and the speedo should be the black round cable that comes out of the back of the cluster forgot where it connects to but both of them can get wore out expecally if there is alot of miles on the car

 

The wire harness (dimmer connector black wire) has no continuity to ground, so the switch itself is irrelevant at this point.... I need to research wiring diagrams to trace this out, search for an open etc....
