Default Engine not starting after compression test

Hello there honda tech, looks like I messed up here. I attempted to do a compression test today, looks like everything went well as far as the results. But when I put everything back together the car would not start up. Here's what I did when I was doing the test. First removed spark plugs, then removed distributor cap with wires, then proceeded to screw in the hose to spark plug threads and do the test. Put the plugs back in, then reattached the distributor cap and wires to the plugs. The engine attempts to crank but no start. One thing I did forget to do was hold the gas pedal down as I was doing the test, so I think I might have flooded the engine with gas, if that we're the case what should I do? I drive a 2000 Honda civic ex by the way.

Thanks for any help guys

Simple question did you put the wires back in the correct order? You also may have fried the coil just leaving the cap off the distributor without unplugging the distributor. Either way check to see if you have spark or not at the wires.

I never unplugged the wires from the cap, just the cap with wires attached, but where could I find a diagram to verify that it is indeed correct. I'll check to see if I'm getting spark, if I were getting spark would that mean the ignition coil is still good? Thanks

If you removed the cap to do the compression test but did not unplug the distributor. Im a 100% sure you fried the ignition coil. Check the resistance on it with it disconnected.

Wasn't getting any spark at all, so is it the ignition coils?

Thanks Everyone, The Ignition Coil had Taken A Dump on Me, Took A Trip to Advance Auto and Got a Replacement Ignition Coil Which Fixed Everything. Idle Seemed to Improve as well. So all in all everything is all good. And My Baby is back up and running.

I would like to thank everyone so freaking much, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Same type of thing happened to me after I changed plug, wires and cap... After 20 years the coil just decided it no longer was happy.
