Default 91 si project

Finally after many years of wanting one i finally acquired one. Yes it has some issues but nothing that cant be easily fixed.

it is a 91 si hatch 52k miles on body, b16a swap, pr3 ecu, ferrea retainers, itr pistons, and no name exhaust. plans for now is making the new harness and wire in vtec properly. i am waiting on stuff to come in to make the harness as of now.

here are a few shots of the car i did remove all the stickers.

yes they painted the header blue.. and you can see some of the wiring nightmare ahead.

to continue with showing the wiring nightmare:
here you can see the wires from the "vtec switch" that is wired in.

here you can see what looks like wire from a lamp?

just a shot of the bad wiring.

pics of who ever owned it was a "slammed" fan boy, and just more reasons to not do it.

the header

the cross member

the oil pan

that is all for now, imputs, opinions all that are welcome, or flaming if thats your thing. will update and try to take as many pictures as i can. specially of the harness building.

no joke me and my friend go so irritated at how sloppy the swap was, and how beat up the underside was.. and curious are the trans plates on all b series transmissions interchangeable? if you look at the header picture. you can see the plate that covers the fly wheel and stuff is gone. it will be a slow on going project since i do a/c installs and repairs business is slow so job hunting at the moment lol

That's not too bad. You should see the mess of an Si I bought... 89 with shaved body that was super slammed and the guy didn't know about jacking points. My wiring is 100x worse as he installed leds, door poppers, power mirrors... And he didn't know what split loom is. Lol.

Looks like you have a power folding mirror switch. I wonder if the mirrors match.

sadly they do not, driver side is honda, passenger side is dommely? i think it said. and ive seen some serious hack jobs done, just cant believe some of the stuff they did to this, speaker wire, lamp cords. im surprised it didnt catch on fire or some crazyness. and i have a dent in the driver side "side skirt" area where it looked like they tried to jack it from there. going to figure how to fix all that when comes time for paint, which paint isnt on the top things to do. just waiting on wiring, and trying to see if that plate is universal from other b series and such.

annd off topic but always a good watch

i do love black efs, or red with the black bumpers, and to the guy asking about the sir badges cause of the b16, i do plan on a full sir front/rear/wing/moldings in the distant future but want all my wiring, motor, suspension work done before doing anything cosmetic.

this is my first cable trans, and i think my cable needs replaced, it just doesnt seem smooth and slow on returning up and gritty going down. i did try to adjust it cause the cable was beyond tight. possible need replacing? or do these need cleaned off or what.

oh things got a bit worse (to me anyway) finally got to get fully under the car today, going to raise it more probably with engine hoist so its higher on the stands (chubby guy)

but ill let the picture speak for its self. and see who can notice the fuckitry done here. and no its not the immense amount of grease/oil.

i honestly have NO clue what they did, it was dark and i only have the flash from my phone, it looks like they ghetto welded a T bracket and ghetto rigged a bolt? sadly i cant yank the motor due to my mom would flip ****. so until i can get money for a rebuild/semi build engine is staying put. unless from tomorrow it looks way worse then yes im pulling the motor out to inspect further. i do have a gsr T bracket from my old eg would that work? just curious. but based on the picture and from what i saw i dont see any actual mount. will get more pictures/info tomorrow.
