Clutchmasters FX500 Clutch Disc Substitution.
I fairly recently purchased a 00 EM1 with a B20VTEC.
The engine was built to hold a stupid N2O shot, and they used a CM FX500 clutch in it.
Short story is: I HATE IT. Pedal pressure is not all that bad, but I hate the harshness of the disc. I'm assuming it's an unsprung 4 puck due to the harshness of the engagement.
My DC2 had a Competition Stage 4 6 puck sprung disc clutch & PP. It wasn't NEARLY as harsh. Pedal pressure felt good.
I haven't seen any CM discs for sale...just kits.
Anyone know who may have CM replacement discs for sale?
Has anyone ever used a disc from another brand kit (Comp, ACT, etc) with a CM Pressure plate with good results? I did at one time talk to a retailer about a replacement CM plate, and they were considerably more expensive than Comp or ACT discs.
Anyone ever used a Comp or ACT disc with a CM pressure plate?

i have the CM FX300 and its great. contact patch it a little on the small side but once you get used to it its fine. cant imagine FX500 though.
if you could locate an FX300 disc i would recommend it. otherwise i say pick up another brand used disc and test fit it with your pressure plate. atleast that way if it doesnt work you didnt pay alot for it.
