is it necessary to run 2 separate wires from battery?

Default is it necessary to run 2 separate wires from battery?

Greetings...and a question.

So my battery has been relocated to my trunk, i was wondering if I could simply run one wire from the trunk to the starter and then splice off that wire to run it to the fuse box....yay or nay?
