Default need some help with 91 crx

Hi i am a shop owner and have been working with aftermarket and perfromance for years, just never messed with hondas, i know alittle about them but not enough. i recently had a customer come in requesting a mild build on his 91 crx, it has the 1.5 in it and of course i accepted his request. he would like it to have alittle more power, i asked him about power adders or motor swaps and he didnt seem too crazy about it, he just basically wants it to be able to get out of its own way. so im asking (not really having done much research yet) what are some things honda guys are doing to get a decent gain in power with bolt on's. before you judge me i honestly have never run into a honda performance build before, i have built several race cars and street rods so i know im capaple of handling it just need a good direction to start in.
Thanks, Matt

That d15 engine really isn't worth doing anything to if he won't go with any sort of forced induction. Is the car still TBI? Or has it been converted to multi-port injection?

As a very mild build, switching to the d16a6(direct bolt in) and doing a mpfi conversion with an intake tube, header and exhaust would be quite the bump compared to stock.

You could step it up a little and go with p29 pistons(cheap on eBay) a little head porting and a cam. That will require chipping and tuning the ecu also.

There are way more options, but those are the most simple and cost effective solutions. I'm a big turbo guy myself

Same principles apply as they would for most any other otto 4-stroke engine . . .

If its an automatic, nothing will really help except swapping in a manual. Also the conversion to MPFI on an auto is challenging.
