2000 Integra LS - Misfire cyl 2 CEL.

256k on car, about half that on motor (it was towed).
Been getting a misfire code for a couple weeks. It came on once, I cleared it, and it wouldn't come on for a few days.
Now it comes on after a few minutes of the car running.
It will flash some times while stopped at idle.
Changed the plugs, they all looked pretty identical.
Changed the wires and cap and rotor last night and cleared the code.
Started it up this morning, it came on within 2-3 minutes and was flashing.
I pulled the injector clip off #2 after the CEL came on, and there was no change in idle.
Pulled it off #1, #3, and #4 and the car sputtered.
Think it's a faulty injector? Or does the ECU cut fuel when it misfires?
Also, checked my oil last week, it was 3 quarts low.
Filled it back up, checked this morning and it was a quart low.
No leaks, no smoke.
Idle drops pretty low when it's really warm, but it's never stalled.
I know I need to do a compression test, just haven't had time. I will do one this weekend.
Your thoughts?

Compression test.
I was going to recommend a valve adjustment until I read the part about your fuel cut off test. To have no change in idle after removing the fuel from #2 tells me that you are getting no compression in #2. I suppose it is possible you have a bad injector, but in my experience that is extremely rare. You could try to swap injectors. That's easy enough.
The ECU does not cut fuel when it misfires. When the CEL light flashes that means there is a catalyst damaging event occurring, in your case, the misfire, which could be dumping fuel into the cat, potentially increasing operating temperature and melting the catalyst.
Start with the compression test. If you're getting low or no compression, a leak down test should be your next move. If you are getting compression, then you may have a bad injector after all.

Sounds like the symptoms i had on my car.

I was getting misfire codes on cylinder 1 and random misfires. Also getting engine light blinking on and off.
Did a compression test on 4, 3, & 2 and they get 110psi. On 1 it was reading only 10. Also, i was putting a quart of oil every week. People were telling me i was burning it through my piston rings. Anyway, with the low compression on one cylinder, i was told it was a bad valve and needed a valve job, new head, or new motor since it has high mileage.
I went with a 90k motor engine swap instead, but waiting to be able to post a new thread because now I'm having shifting issues because i also changed the clutch and flywheel. The bottom gears won't go in all the way and pops out every now and then. Top gears are nice and snug.

Did a compression test, cylinder 2 has very low compression on dry and wet test.
All other cylinders are fine.
Eats a quart of oil a week, but still drives. lol
It's not smoking or leaking anywhere. Coolant is normal, doesn't overheat.
I think it's a bad valve. Need to do a leak down. :-/

sounds like bad valves burnt or warped. replace them all for good measure as they're like 60.00 for all 16 on ebay. Be glad it's not your rings ! a lot harder to deal with then bad valves
