Default Need new transmission for '98 Accord. Can I trust this online dealer?

Howdy. First post here. I've got a '98 Accord EX, automatic, 4 cylinder. Tranny's just about to go and I'm having trouble finding someone I can trust for a new one. (The dealer cost is $4k, which is more than the car's worth.)

I found the website of a place in Jersey that refurbishes parts and gives them a five-year warranty. It's not cheap ($1,500), but I'd be willing to drop that much for such guarantee. But can I trust this site? I see ZERO reviews for it online. It's http://www.a1partsdepot.com/

Anybody hear of the site? Or have alternate ideas about how I can get a new transmission besides scouring junkyards?

Thanks much.

On a few occasions I'ved used these guys.

https://www.iaai.com/

I bought a wrecked car specially for the engine. As soon as I got the wrecked car, I put ads up on craigslist and car forum to sell parts....lotta work, but it paid for itself. Iaai charges a yearly fee and lots of fees when you buy, but might be something that'll help you.

Good luck, keep us posted.

where do you live? in la i paid $800 for a rebuilt transmission with 1 year warranty? it's called california transmission & auto repair. but my car is making clunking noises when i go into reverse and drive. I have about 300 miles left on warranty. So im changing all motor and transmission mounts just to make sure thats not the problem. If it's the transmisson then I will go back to have it fixed with my warranty and pay for another year warranty.

If you are unsure that the parts provider will honor there warranty on the transmission which is usually 30-60 days. I would recommend using a credit card as they are very good about doing a credit card charge back in fraudulent circumstances. Just have proper documentation of the broken transmission and especially that you have shipped the transmission back.
