Default SO my 08 fa5 ia consuming oil

89k on the clock , religiously changed every time the maintenance % got to 15% and at 89k the thing is burning oil , is not something i will see when driving or under heavy acceleration , no black smoke or funny smell ,did i mention my wife drives it ? she's never raced the engine pass 4k rpm . also no leaks engine is clean and dry , but where is the ******* oil going ?

i notice on the deep stick , i did the oil change last 5k and top it off to the second mark and now is a little below the first mark(5k miles later ) , probably by 1.25 qts off

has anyone experienced this ? iam 4 more payments left into my loan and 89k and burning oil wtf??

Not too surprised sadly. While the dealership I work for hasn't done a 06-11 si engine yet, we've had several k-series accords burning an unreasonable amount of oil and some pilot v6's as well, we even did a engine in a 08+ accord v6 with less then 40k that was burning quite a bit of oil too. Add to that the service bulletin for 2012 si's with oil consumption issue, the fix is new rings and pistons

I'd try soaking cylinders in sea foam over night, change oil and see if any difference. If compression is still good it's possibly stuck oil control rings.

Never read the last of you post haha, but 1.25qts per 5k miles doesn't sound too horrible to me, I got almost 6k total miles on my 11 si yes it uses some oil but I beat the **** out of it everytime it is driven haha. To be honest I'd be checking my oil level more then every 5k....
Also being babied doesn't mean it won't consume oil.

It is normal, but I follow the owners manual and check the oil at every gas fill up for peace of mind
