I am trying to purchase a car. This is 2005 AP2 with 33000km of mileage. It is bone stock.

I noticed oil leak or more like oil stain by the diff casing. The previous owner told me he changed the oil about 5000km ago. Obviously an oil leak is not right, and something is must be wrong. What can it be by just looking at this picture? Is this kind of minor leakage common with S2000? I apologize for asking for too much with such short info.

 

No that looks legit. You can see the drain bolt there, but the fill hole is above where that oil is on the back of the diff housing. The owner either spilled a bunch when changing or is getting a leak from lose drain bolt or bad crush washer. An 05 with 20k miles is a pretty good find, so long as it's been properly maintained. And the owner saying they changed the diff oil is probably a good sign.

Side note: purchasing my s2000 was the best thing I've ever done car-wise. Good luck!
