Question on my 93 prelude lower ball joints. Please HELP!!!
I have a 93 honda prelude vtec and have been over a few years replacing and redoing things, did a jdm motor swap and re did the brakes and stuff, suspension is mostly redone, but i keep having this problem with my front lower ball joints.. At first my car was squeeking real bad with the steering wheel turning and hitting bumps, and i figured out it was the bj so i replaced it, me and my dad did it ourselves and we kinda tore the boot, so we let it ride and the grease dried out again and it actually broke while i was driving one day. so when we fixed it we made sure the boot was un harmed. and now its been about 4 months and its already dried out again and squeeking.. is this because the bjs i bought were only like 25 to 30 a peice?? the cheaper ones.. is this why the grease keeps getting weather to it, both sides of the front have broke before while driving. Do i need to get more expensive and better quality ball joints or could it be something else causing them to go bad. Thanks for any help i can get!
OEM, you can use the 5th gen lower ball joints. I have 5th gen ones right now in my 4th gen. I also had those cheap ones, they break after 5000 miles typically. OEM will take you for 100,000. Believe it or not, OEM was about $20-30 at the dealer
awesome thats perfect, i will get some oem ones from the dealer, can i just go ahead and get front ones for the back too? cuz if im not mistaken you cant buy rear lowers?? they try and sell you the whole knuckle. Thanks for the help!

Go buy the ball joint replacment/recall kit from Honda, they can be used in the fourth gen, the fifth gen ands the accords. The kit was 80 bucks candaian from stealership.
What this guy said. The kit is cheaper in the US and works great. You might buy new castle nuts though as they don't come with new ones.
