God awful noise coming from passenger side (sound clip)
As topic states, I have this awful noise coming from the passenger side of my car when I'm turning the wheel in either direction. If I'm just sitting at a red light or at a stand still, the slightest movement I make with the steering wheel it makes this super loud grinding noise. I've replaced the tie rod end, wheel bearing and lower ball joint in the past few months. I've now come to notice the cv joint boot is ripped. Is it possible that this noise is due to the lack of grease up in the cv joint? I've tried jacking the car up on stands and had my wife turn the wheel back and forth to see if I can try to locate where the problem is coming from but it doesn't make the noise when there's no weight on the front end. I plan on replacing the axle, but just invade that isn't the issue I'm hoping to do everything all at once and be done with this headache. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a sound clip of me just sitting in the garage barely turning the wheel back and forth. If its worth noting, we had a few warm days this week and the noise totally disappeared. When it got cold again it came right back.

I'm leaning towards the steering rack going bad. Is the power steering harder to turn? Could also be a bad strut. Have your wife turn the wheel with it on the ground while you listen.
No it's easy to turn even when it's making noise. The struts are fairly new. I'm going to have to put it on ramps and have her turn the wheel because it doesn't make noise if I just jack it up and there's no weight on the front end.
Your car has shocks, not struts. Struts turn when the wheels turn. Shocks do not turn.
The CV joints would only make noise when the wheels are rotating. Check the bolts on the rack for proper torque. Also inspect the bushings.

Took another look today. The noise is definitely coming from somewhere underneath the shock tower. It has original upper control arm bushings so I think I'm going to start there first. It sounds like there's either metal on metal rubbing going on or the UCA bushings are completely gone. I tried lubercating them but I don't think the grease is actually reaching where the dry contact is going on.
I requested a short story for a title.

sounds like a lower ball joint,, actually it sounds exatcly like a dry ball joint
take a little wd40 or lubricant and spary it around both balljoints and see if that temporarily eliminates the noise, if so there is your problem
