Default Check Engine Light P1167

Hi everyone,

I came to US two months ago for college study. I bought a 2001 Honda Accord LX ULEV F23A4 last month. It was performing pretty well up to now. Today, check engine light turned on.

I was planning to change oil, so I took it to Monro. They scanned the code and it was P1167 which was about Primary Number 1 H Q2 Sensor Heating System. They said they can't do anything, I have to take it to my mechanic. And I don't have one.

The issue is, tomorrow I'll be on my way to Washington, DC early in the morning. I can't cancel the trip. Is it safe to go? I am planning to depart like 7 am in the morning, it would be much better but if it is risky, I can try to find a mechanic and depart after the repair. But that won't be good for the business. . So, "Should I stay or should I go?", can it be left for another time? Is it urgent?

The second one is, which oxygen sensor (brand and serial if I may) do you recommend me? Can I install it myself (I know where it must be plugged in but never done it before) or how much do you reckon it would cost if I take it to a mechanic as labor charge? What is cheapest for me?

Many thanks in advance.

Driving it should not be a problem. You can get a good oxygen sensor at any auto parts store. Probably find them cheaper on-line, like Rockauto.

Thanks a lot jdowen2, I owe you one. That seems to be a great site.

It is a relief also "to be able to be" on the road early in the morning.

I checked out the site and saw that Upstream ULEV A/F Ratio sensor prices vary a lot. It is starting from $74.79 to $198. Can you recommend me one? I am a student so some are very expensive for my wallet and I have pretty little knowledge about cars.

Many thanks in advance.

My Engine is F23A4. It is ULEV. I don't think it fits my engine.

What you say is DENSO is good?

Should I look for DENSO for F23A4?
