B18B1 Engine questions, for my 79 civic coupe
I recently picked up a little 79 civic with a B18B1 block and gsr vtec head. Now, the first thing i'll go ahead and say is i know absolutely nothing about this motor, i'm a Honda guy but i've stuck to the s2000 for the last few years and haven't wandered at all.
A few questions:
If i want to built this for 10-12lb of boost on a small, quick spooling turbo what are the must haves for engine parts? What size injectors do i need for 10-12lb?
The wiring in the car is hacked up big time, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. because it's a B18B1 with a gsr vtec head, what wiring harness can i buy for this? I want to start from scratch.
Are there any good companies what can make me a custom clean harness for this setup. i'm going to shave the bay and want it clean and un-noticable if i can help it.
What is a good ecu to run? I have an xecron and it's huge. Does aem make an ecu for this? because it's an old car i won't have any problems with inspection.
Thanks in advance

It doesn't look like you have much room under the hood for a turbo setup. And if that underhood picture is yours, you do not have a B18B1, as that engine did not have VTEC.
lol that is his engine if you actually read what he said its a b18b1 with gsr head.
but anyways rywire makes good harnesses or chasebays, they run about $500 but as for a turbo thats going to be difficult as theres barely any room i see in that engine bay.

i have never seen that before.thats awesome!
i agree with dogginator though, how the HELL would you even fit a t28 in there?

i can put a turbo where the battery is, or put it down low. The battery is going inside the car in the hatch.
here is a slightly better (larger) pic of the engine bay

What is a good recomended ecu to run?

safely?
i would recommend rods/pistons for the bottom end
the head should be good for 10-12lbs on a small t28 or something.
255lph fuel pump
450cc injectors(at least)
full tune up
not sure on ecu,im sure a chipped pr3 from a b16 would work..
I would also look in the Forced Induction section.
Wow, very cool project! There is many options for custom harness's as well engine management systems to choose from. If you are more of a DIY guy an AEM EMS-4 Universal ECU along with the AEM flying lead harness will allow to wire up any 4-cylinder engine for around only $1,050.
What's cool about the EMS-4 is that it is very lightweight, water resistant and shock proof with capabilities of a stand alone engine management system for tuning purposes.
Here is my buddies EMS-4, with a modified and finished wire harness. Hit me up for more information.
