Icon2 Information needed on manual tranny refill

I have an 04 5 speed EM2. I want to do a transmission flush, but I am unsure of the fluid to use and how much to get? Any ideas?

That information on how much to put in can be found in your honda civic owner's manual. Look up the CAPACITIES chart and you'll see it. As for which fluid to use... You should only use the HONDA manual transmission fluid(MTF) that is sold at your local dealership.

Not to debate or anything but i think the Honda MTF does just fine and is cheaper as well... Especially if this is just for an every day driver... This has been discussed before, and it's a never-ending debate. There's really no reason to use anything but the regular Honda MTF in the gear box unless you might have some special components that need special treatment or something.

You don't flush it, you simply drain the old fluid and pour in new.

You need 1.6 quarts, so buy two (1qt) bottles.

There's really no need to use anything other than Honda Genuine MTF.
