So, a month after completing my R81 Em1 build, a good homie of mine, nickname Darkness, asked us to build him one too lol. After a couple months of searching for the perfect platform, found a good one for a cheap price. Originally my buddy went to go check out this Em1, and the seller was asking way too much, $4000 or so, for a clean title em1 with crappy repaint, blown b20 swap, crap suspension, even more crap wheels. Of course we turned it down and kept searching, a month goes by and the seller contacts us back saying "I need this car gone cant sell it and it needs to go" so after a few minutes of haggling, got the car for $2000 flat! We get the car back to one of GGP's headquarters and the car is even worse than expected, but who can complain, complete car for $2000, so GGP is going to bring another EM1 back to life!

How the car looked in the craigslist ad

(Day 1) Started the tear down
Rattled canned paint job, hacked up harness, ebay this and that, smashed radiator support, missing various misc items.

(Day 2) Prepping the bay
Banged out the radiator support, good ol' sledge hammer

(Day 3) Gave up on try to scrape, sand, strip and wire wheel the spray paint off
Called a guy on Craigslist, $200 later, fresh bay!!!!!

(Day4) Laid down some etch primer

(Day 5) Took a trip to Dallas Jdm Motors
98 spec Itr Swap, they always take care of us!

(Day 6) Finally decided on the color
Long Beach Blue Pearl!!!! Pics dont do the paint justice

UPDATE! 11/8/12
(Day 7) Bought some lights at home depot, couldnt pass up the deal!
Cleaned and recoated the subframe, prepped the VC and Intake for some color, mounted subframe and mock up prop valve

(Day 8) Brake lines mocked up

(Day 9) Harness Hell

Done for the night cuz I has no loom!
(Day 10) Halfway there

(Day 11) Took a break from the harness, finished up the fuel setup

(Day 12) Finished up the harness

Picked up some finishing supplies, trying to get this running this week!

Ditched the stale 4x100

Slid the beast under her dress!

(Day 12) Cold as hell tonight! Tied up the small things today.

Spent 1 1/2 hours making an extension harness for the driver side plug, hope it works, trying something new.

(Day 13) Long cold nights, finishing up small misc items

(Day 14) First Start up!

(Day 15) Got her on the ground, threw a set of my wheels on (just to roll around), have her a well deserved bath, and filled her up with 93 octane goodness!

This build has not been great to my fingers

(Day 16) Been running around trying to get all the small stuff to finish the build

Finally got a hood

Picked up new fenders, modified the fenders for extra clearance just to get it over with before paint, who needs a roller when you have a dremel and a mallet, made by hand!

This build keeps taking and taking!

Meanwhile.......loving gas prices!

*more updates to come!!!*

i could, some find it easier to read in the first post so they dont have to go through multiple pages to see pics
Nice. Simple swap looks so fun, plus it looks almost stock of you don't know the differences
Also like that you update the first post
