Default Oil Pump Issue

Engine; F22B1 Vtec

Okay so after a few searches still not clear on this new problem with my accord. debating between oil pump or the pick up. It all started one day while running and vtec didn't kick in and got a check light with code 22 if i recall. after that, every time i went to start the car it would start up with a really low idle AND noticed the oil light was on for longer than usual, then it went away as the idle went up to normal. THEN, yesterday morning as i went to start the car from cold, it did it but this time with a little whining sound from the engine, almost like that power steering whining noise but not as loud, thought oil level was low, put in half a quart and noise went away so decided to just do oil change and be sure i had the right oil but that didn't fix the problem.

Today i removed my vtec solenoid which was prrewty dirty but still nothing. also checked plug on oil pressure sensor behind the block and was fine.

*This only happens at start up, after the car is running i never see the oil light on nor any weird noises.

I'm really hoping that the sound coming from the engine is not a bearing with little lubrication.

Tomorrow i will check oil pressure with a gauge and try different oil pressure sensor even tho i doubt it will do anything.

Really in need of feedback, if you heard/had this problem. before i start dropping oil pans and pumps.

Thanks.

If you had a bearing problem it would get bad fast. Using an oil pressure gauge is a fast way to see if you have spec pressure.

Problem fixed. Was the oil pick up in the oil pan.
