Post Just got my 2nd Integra DA, what motor?

Hey all, don't remember when I actually signed up but have been on here awhile just checkin threads for the most part...and with all the things I got goin on I haven't had time to actually post anything. Anyway, I just picked up my 2nd Integra DA this past September. Found it up the street from me after they pulled the motor (b16) & sold me the shell for cheap, came with a couple things!

Considering I already have one it was a no-brainer to pick it up so if anything when 1 car is done I can transfer parts back & forth when I need to. I'm debating on just fixing the shell up more & sell/trade it for something else OR just put a motor in it.

Question is my budget isn't that great....so what motor should I put in it, if i just want to have another fun car to drive?? - my main shop is too high for any complete swap but I do have a place that I can get one done for a fair price.....im tryin for a GSR but if i gotta go lower what would be the best price normally- B16A, B20B/A? (*no point doin a stock B18B1*) - any advice is appreciated!

judging by your budget i would go with a b20 and a b16 tranny. then later on when you have more money you can always convert it to vtec with a gsr/b16 head.

If you put a b20 bottom end you wouldnt be able to get it bar'd later on down the road. If you did b16 turbo or ls turbo you could always go back to stock for smog etc..

So far, ive managed to locate a B20B installed for a lil under $1500 but there's one more place on my list that i actually have to go to in person & speak with them maybe in the next week or two.

It's tougher where im at not being around ANY kind of shops for the things I can't do myself too, always have to go outta my way to pick up parts & all of the "trustworthy" shops are still 90+ miles away from me.

definitely best dollar per pound option. just make sure to get either a usdm b20z, or the high compression b20b. if you can get the jdm p8r head equipped b20b, that would be excellent.
however, as mentioned, you may have trouble getting it bar'd.

I agree and you'll NEVER be able to pass smog or when you get pulled over by the cops and they send you to the smog ref... good luck. I'd go B18b before I'd go b20 anything.
