99 Trans Question
So my 1990 Accord is going along great, I've had to replace a main relay, the Transmission Control Module, along with some other common stuff, this site was a huge help with the main relay, and tcm issues.
I'm buying a 1999 Accord for a smokin deal from a friend because it has no reverse. I'm a mechanic, and swapping the trans is no big deal, but are there any other things to check first. A quick web search shows a lot of these cars have this issue. Is it usually an internal failure, or are ther any common circutry or solenoid issues, or anything else?
I got my 90 Accord from a guy for cheap because he thought it needed a trans being in limp mode, and the TCM was the issue, I definitely want to check into this 99 before yanking the trans.
Thanks

For those interested it was the transmission. I talked to a trans guy and he said the fork wears out for reverse, and it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I replaced the trans and working great. I also did the timing/balance belts, pullies, water pump, and front brakes. Nice little car now. Great driver.
I had a question about my transmission on 97 Civic also. They have a separate forum for that if you're interested:
